Wedding shows/fairs can be a fantastic place to gain a little inspiration and make some great contacts when planning your special day. However, I have recently noticed that they can cost an absolute fortune to attend! I took a trip to a wedding show two weeks ago for a little competitor analysis. I am based in North London, so not only did I have to drive to South London which took over an hour each way, but when I arrived, I paid a hefty £18 for the privilege of perusing! I thought this was quite a princely sum of money and assumed it would be quite a large, extensive show. However, I pottered around at my leisure and still managed to leave within an hour!
With this in mind, I thought I’d let you all know of one wedding show that doesn’t cost a penny to get into and is in rather a nice location…
Where and when is this wedding show?
On Saturday 3rd March 2012, from 12pm until 3pm, the Roof Gardens in Kensington are having a wedding showcase. You can have a glass of champagne and a few canapés before wandering around at your leisure. There will be a variety of suppliers for you to meet and discuss ideas with, including cake designers, florists, stationery designers, entertainment and honeymoon companies. The best bit, is that this is all based up on a stunning rooftop garden in the heart of London…and you’ll even get to meet their resident flamingoes!
How do I gain entry to the show for free?
If you’re interested in visiting the show, you need to get on the guest list. You can do this by calling Frances West on 020 7368 3971, or by emailing her : frances.west@roofgardens.virgin.com
Once you are on the guest list, you are welcome to bring up to two friends with you. However, please note that you will be unable to turn up on the day and gain entry to the show. You must be on the guest list.
Why is this show different to others?
Other than the fact that entry is free of charge, the suppliers who attend this show are on an invitation only basis. This means that unlike other shows where suppliers pay vast sums of money to exhibit, all of the exhibitors have been hand picked by the Roof Gardens and invited to showcase their products, free of charge. The Roof Gardens has an extremely prestigious reputation, and it is therefore a huge privilege to be invited to exhibit at this show. In addition, as the exhibitors have been handpicked by the Roof Gardens, it means that the quality of the suppliers will be extremely high.
How do I know about this show?
Well………..Wendy Bell Designs is one of the lucky exhibitors! I was contacted by the Roof Gardens and asked if I would be willing to exhibit at their wedding showcase.
