With Vintage becoming timeless rather than a trend, our Love Bird laser cut invitation captures this unique fashion perfectly. Two elegant birds, deeply in love sitting on top of their birdcage. All that is vintage comes together to create a truly special design.
Hi Claire & English Wedding readers!
I’ve attached my image of one of my newest designs, and my current favourite (Although it does seem to change weekly!) This was released just 2 weeks ago!
This is the Brigitte design, some inspiration from the great Brigitte Bardot, and also evolved from a previous bespoke design for a client who had an ‘Italian Glamour’ theme.
It features a satin ribbon with satin bow and then the diamante button embellishment for that striking centre. So simple yet so effective!
Hope you like it …
Sophie (Cards by Sophie) xx
This is our gorgeous vintage lace inspired stationery range called Romance. Bride and grooms names are printed on the front along with a wedding date, giving it a really personal feel. As we print these in house we’re able to print in any colour that suits your theme. This our favorite of the moment though, lavender and purple!

Hi Claire and readers
This is a tough one as I tend to have at least two current favourites but this is one that is going down very well. It’s a 15cm square wallet invitation made using a rich blue card which has a subtle sheen to it and has been decorated with a real peacock eye feather, wide ivory satin ribbon and a silver toned diamante flower embellishment. This embellishment is one of several that I have sourced from abroad so is not generally available in the UK. The invitation wording and RSVP card (included) are printed on a gorgeous cream card from the same range as the blue and also has a subtle sheen. The cost of this invitation is £5.50 each which includes invitation wording, RSVP card and matching cream envelope.
Hope you like it as much as I do!
Kim
Wow! Loving the quality here – thank you Kay, Sophie, Mandalay team and Kim!
These are gorgeous. I’m looking forward to seeing plenty more – and hopefully to helping any brides and grooms who are on a mission to find wedding invitations too!
Stationery people – hello! I’ve just mentioned on Twitter that I’ll create a gallery of all the submitted images – so please, keep ‘em coming!

Hello Claire! What a fabulous competition and offer … and a great way to showcase all those new designs out there to all your readers!
My favourite design at the moment is my ‘Rose Cottage’ range which has a really lovely autumnal feel, although it can of course have the colours adapted for a more summery wedding aswell. I love the additions of brown paper in wedding stationery at the moment so this stationery set is wrapped in a brown paper band and string, and includes a information card and rsvp postcard in with the pack. I love these rsvp postcards as they make it much easier for your guests to rsvp quickly and efficiently!
I’m still loving the vintage trend and it will still be strong in 2012 but I think it will develop and take on different quirks of its own. I think junk shop chic will be big as I have recently worked with a lot of couples who want their wedding to represent a collective of who they are rather than just focusing on a certain era. My Vintage Typewriter is my junk shop chic style range and I love it, nostalgia and quirkiness mixed with good old fashioned love! It is completely styled throughout and comes with optional pocket and information sheets and addressed RSVP x
Hiya!
More & more couples are looking to include additional information for their guests. With this in mind our Ellis Invitation includes a pocket inside to keep all the bits & pieces neatly together and not spilling out all over the floor! It’s available in a range of card colours to reflex your colour scheme. You can request free samples on our website http://www.cardlab.co.uk/
All our invitations are printed in-house on vintage letterpress printers. Our aim is to combine this classic technique with modern materials and designs.
We’re running a 20% discount on invitations, information sheets & acceptance cards until 21st October. Don’t miss out!!
We love to make a statement with our wedding stationery ranges.
This pocketfold wedding invitation from our Keats range is not only made with bold colours, it shows the use of popular imagery; the peacock feather.
The colours of the feathers are brought out with the emerald backing and emerald Swarovski crystals. Finished with the beautiful Bronze Plumes pocketfold from Envelopments.
Hello Claire,
Thank you for the opportunity to show our best loved invitation to your reader!
At Handcrafted Catering we deliver all your wedding needs from food to styling and stationery, all with that special handmade touch.
Our favourite invitation at the moment is from the Fluttering Butterflies range, featuring gold and cream butterfly silhouettes cut from vintage papers fluttering over a deep purple heart with the wording hand-typed on one of our much loved typewriters. The wording inside the card is printed onto a lovely light vellum with the butterflies fluttering behind the text. A beautiful and striking card with a 3d and tactile effect.
All of our invitations are bespoke, made to your desired design therefore all the colours can be adapted to fit your style!
We hope you like it!
With love from Lucy @ TheHandcraftedCateringCompany
Hi all!
This is a truly bespoke wedding invitation and a great example of the work I love doing.
Brightly coloured and fun, the couple wanted something different, something that stood out and was uniquely them. I created a fun way of folding that once unfolded made a poster, a returnable RSVP slip and a map and ‘things to do in the area’ card to bring on the day.
Heavily textured text is teamed with hand drawn illustrations of the couple, the locations and a few of their favourite things and the poster features polaroids of them at Disney in the US – a huge inspiration for the bright and fun styling of the wedding. More images can be found here: http://samosborneweddings.wordpress.com/2011/07/26/brightly-coloured-wedding-invitation/
All my invitations are bespoke, some are based on templates that are customised but the vast majority are done from scratch to suit the particular couple and their particular day. A few examples can be found on my wedding website or here: http://www.sam-osborne.co.uk/
I hope you like this invite as much as I enjoyed making it. It came as part of a set including menus, a huge table plan map, badges, order of service, name cards, signage, flags and more and the couple had the most fantastic day. I love that I was able to contribute in a small way to making it so special.

Hello!
This is my favourite from our range of wedding stationery collections… so much so, I chose to use this save the date for my own wedding next year.
We strive to create fresh and contemporary designs for brides looking for something a little different. This save the date card is from our Amelia collection which includes matching invitations, rsvp cards, thank-you cards and anything else you may need.
Hope you like it!

Oh Claire, lovely Claire, it’s so hard to choose just one invitation as our favourite! So in honour of all things luxury, as we gear up for the fabulous Luxury Wedding Show London, we have chosen this beautiful invitation. Etched into shimmering metal and presented in an ivory pearl pocket, with double organza ribbons and a glittering diamante brooch, with additional enclosures attached by way of a simple ribbon pull, it has to be one of our favourite invitations of the past twelve months. And looking at all the other submissions, it’s in great company! Dragonfly Couture Stationery XOXO
Nikki, Lucy, Kate, Jo, Lucy, Sam, Kerry, Ling… what can I say. I’m actually seeing the best UK wedding invitations appearing before my eyes here – and I love all of your designs. For colours, elegance and style, truly classy styling and spot on trends. I’m delighted – more than I can say.
How I’m going to choose favourites at the end of the month, I have no idea. This is going to be far trickier than I thought.
It’s going to be so much fun though. Thank you all, gorgeous wonderful talented people. I know there are more to come – I can’t wait to see.
Love you lots!

This is one of my favorite designs, I call it Two peas. I love the use of traditional typography and illustration sympathetic to the period, but also not so serious as it plays on the saying ‘two peas in a pod’. I think its a very simple but elegant design, I hope you think so to.
Definitely, Andrew! I do love all the little details on there, it’s so carefully designed and looks fab. Thank you for sharing xx
What a super competition! Good luck all.
I’ve decided to share something that is very special to me. My wedding invitation! Next year I marry my wonderful business partner Jon at The Guildhall in Winchester. My invitation depicts all the places that are significant in our life: the pyramids in Egypt, The Duomo in Florence where Jon proposed…oh and Festival place in Basingstoke where we first met!
The design is a single mantle card in tiffany blue, with information card and direction sheet, foiled, embellished, wrapped and accessorised with hand cut envelopes. I’ve been showing this design in my studio portfolio and people have loved it. We are launching this range alongside our new “art studio” on our new website at the end of this month.
I really hope you like my invite.
Lots of love
Natalie @ Two by Two Weddings x x x x x x
I love this, Natalie – the magical made up cityscape is a great concept. And I love that blue and the foil print. Your reasons for choosing this as your favourite design… so romantic! Will you give me a shout when your new “art studio” launches too? I’m intrigued

My invitation designs tend towards a classic and elegant style. When I ask brides why they’ve chosen my work, it’s often because they’ve been looking for something on the “plainer” side. While the designs may be simple, the quality of the raw materials is second to none. This “Helmsley” ensemble showcases my work perfectly. A pearlescent white, shimmering pocketfold backed with the ever popular Cadbury purple (the colour of 2011!). This invitation comes complete with guest information enclosure, response card and return envelope. Even the envelopes come in matching pearlescent papers! The front design features a pretty, vintage inspired graphic, hand finished with a Swarovski® crystal. I love the opportunity to design bolder, statement invitations, but this signature style has definitely appealed to brides looking for a high quality, timeless wedding invitation.
Christine, yes – there really is a purple thing going on at the moment! And I’m being asked for lots of lilacs for the end of this year with my calligraphy. Loving your timeless design and that calligraphic swirly motif – gorgeous. Thanks so much for sharing! Claire xx
Hi Claire.
This is my favourite design at the moment – “Carousel”. It’ll be part of my new collection and is available with additional guest information and maps on the reverse plus reply card if required, and as an A5 duplexed digital print, letterpress print or poster print in a gorgeous kaleidoscope of colours to suit. It was created from my real love and roots in typographical design and, I hope, reflects the pure joy & celebration of an informal wedding or civil partnership . Although it is part of my standard range it will be a very personal piece for every couple as their own names and text will ultimately determine a unique layout. I really hope you like it as I thoroughly relished designing it!
Suzanne… how wrong would it be to say I wish I’d designed this card? I wish I could play with all those fonts and graphics and make something so fab. Gorgeous colours and I love the name of the design. And the fact you got “kaleidoscope” in your description – bonus points for that one!
This is fab
Hello Claire and English Wedding readers,
This is such a great competition thanks Claire! I am a relatively new business and i’m working really hard to get my name out there! It’s difficult to choose a favourite design as I really to love all the different styles and designs of my collections, however i have decided to choose my Winter Wonderland invitation, which is a pocketfold design inspired by a crisp winter’s morning with sparkly snowflakes and cool blue card. The illustrations and hand drawn and the accent colours are all hand painted. Many of my stationery designs are hand painted which I feel gives a really unique feel to each invite. I also offer a bespoke service so all my designs can be edited in colour etc. to suit.
Hope you like it, there are so many gorgeous invites on here!
Catherine (Handcrafted by Paper Delights)
Thank you Catherine – it’s fab to see a winter design in here too – my first snowflake of the year! I love your handpainted accents – have just been browsing your collection too: it appeals to my inner artist. I adore your hydrangea design, the roses and your vintage glamour collection too… all fabulous.

Hi Claire!
This is my favourite collection from my A Little Bird wedding stationery collections. Its my favourite because it can be tailored to the Bride and Groom from custom colours, ribbons and even the personalised monogram which adorns all of the collection. I love it so much I even named it after my little sister Bethany. So here its is the Bethany Collection. I hope you love it as much as I do!!
Love
A Little Bird xoxo
Natalie, that’s beautiful – and beautifully photographed too. I love the calligraphy elements… the swirly letters and monogram are wonderful.
Can you let me have a link to your website though? I’ve googled you and A Little Bird and Bethany Collection with no luck. And I want to see more!

Hi Claire!
What a great idea! Am loving seeing others designs, it’s so interesting how many completely different approaches people have. Ours is one of our ‘purple feather’ ranges. It comes as a complete set with RSVP and Save The Dates, and of course the design can follow through other stationery if necessary.
We have found deep rich purples a popular choice but the design can be adapted to suit any colour schemes.
We really hope you like it! x
(P.S – My little white kitten has returned, hooray!
More purple… this is fascinating. Penny, I love the contrasting pieces of this collection, and that border is the kind of thing I try and try and try to illustrate but never quite get it right. This looks absolutely perfect. Another fab picture as well! (So no one else builds towers of garden furniture and has to balance upside down between gusts of wind trying to get the angle right? No? Just me then.)
Another stunning, striking design – these are ALL my favourites now!
Thank you so much for sharing this with me. And also for your kitten news. That’s brilliant! Is he still timid or are you best of friends?

Botanical Range:
The Great British Countryside. A fusion between a classic Yorkshire wedding and a vintage travel look. Taking inspiration from old botanical illustrations, travel journals and Yorkshire Ale, we created this light and natural look.
Invitations were presented within a torn page from a vintage Wuthering Heights book, featuring an inky signature of the Bride and Groom’s names and the wedding date. This was then tied in a bundle with a slate grey ribbon and a tag featuring the wedding details.
We wanted the recipients to have fun exploring all of the different pieces.
Roeni… what can I say – I want one. Loving your imagination, creativity and how fabulous receiving that invitation pack must have been. Also: how brilliant is your website?! I’m making my first issuu publication: I see you’re experts. Just fabulous. Thank you for sharing! xx
Hi Claire,
Thank you so much for the feedback! I am so pleased that you like the invitation and that I found you today. I hope to stay in touch, please give me a shout if I can help you with your Issuu publication! James x
Hi Claire! and thank you for giving us all this wonderful chance.
My clients love an air of quality, definitely a little magpie sparkle and the fact that I only offer custom designs & create ‘one-offs’ drives them to visit my little studio.
Its very difficult to choose just one design but this is my favourite named – Orley as it is very French in look, feel and reminds me of vintage lace. A modern pocket with a stunning brooch embellishment and loops of lush satin ribbon in sage green which has been a very popular colour for me in 2011. Very elegant and very now for all those lush lace wedding dresses.
So loving the diversity and unique designs of all the other stationery companies so far, the standard is sooooo high! Sticky Fingers Designs xx
Thank you Jilly! Another stunner… I love the folds of ribbon with your buckle design – really elegant.
And I agree with you about the design standard – there are some really special pieces here and I’m really happy to have so many designers showcasing their favourite invitations.

this is information really helped me with my wedding invitations. thamk you:)
Hi Claire!
Thank you for your request for an invitation design – so many beautiful ones, I don’t envy your job choosing the best one!!
I have added one of our newest designs which proved a massive hit at the NEC – ‘HEIDI’ is our vintage birdcage design – hope you like!

Hello lovely,
My favourite design and a best seller by a mile also as featured in Vogue (ooh errr!) an opulent invite thus called ‘Opulence’ featuring lace, silky satin and a crystal cluster. This invite design is not new but it’s classic style has meant that it is as popular as ever this year as it was last year. Last year this design was huge in vibrants & brights, this year it’s definitely a return to the classics muted shades, oatmeal, ivory, nudes & taupes.
Hope you like…
Ooh Clare – I’ve only just seen this one. A beautiful design, and fitting perfectly with the English Wedding ethos of timeless sophistication. I love it. Thank you for sharing! xx
P.S. Vogue, hey? That’s fantastic!
Yey Vogue featured us in their May issue. Madness! This exact colour (Oatmeal) in their Royal Wedding feature ‘Love is in the Heir’ ha love that!
Hope your well and keeping busy with work and kiddiwinkles xx
So many beautiful designs and proud to see the work of my fellow stationery pals!
My designs are on the quirky side, so I’ve chosen to share one of my new city designs – I LOVE LONDON.
My new York invitations have been such a success over the past year, that now I’ll be rolling out Las Vegas & Paris to match shortly. As with all of my designs, it can be colour/font customised to truly make it your own.

With winter on the way, we feel this is a perfect choice for a vintage winter wedding! A fabulously versatile Pocketfold with plenty of room inside for additional guest information. Being the sparkly magpies we are at Wanderlust, we just love the shine from the snowflake! And if its too much sparkle for some brides, we can create this design in an all pearl snowflake instead.
This is certainly my favourits at the moment and is the invite that has got me fully booked currently. It’s a wallet style invitation with more sparkle than you care to imagine. A luxurious snowflake design finished with a cut snowflake and then finished with lashings of glitter for that true winter wonderland. The wording is foiled. I’ve done this in quite a few colours now. Each one gorgeous.
This is one of my favourite designs at the moment which I designed for one of my customers and is very popular with others.
I design wedding stationery for the happy couple around their requirements, so that their stationery is unique and special to them. As my website is undergoing massive changes at the moment most of my new collections can be found at: http://www.facebook.com/lovebugweddings but website should all be finished soon (fingers crossed).
Hello Claire!
Thanks for giving us all this fantastic opportunity to showcase our work!
Up until now, ALL our work has been 100% bespoke, however, because of the
great response we get to our designs, we have made the decision to offer
brides several off-the-shelf options with a hope to growing this side of the
business.
One of the first to launch for next summer is our vintage birdcage invite.
It covers a variety of themes such as English county garden, French chic (I
know – French and English at the same time!), vintage birdcage and
wouldn’t look out of place in the majority of weddings that didn’t have a particular theme.
We will be offering the full stationery range from RSVPs to info cards,
menus to order of service, name cards to table numbers and more.
We’re really excited about the launch of our off-the-shelf range, so keep a
look out for more unique and wonderful Acushla designs!
Hi Claire & EWS readers, thank you for the wonderful opportunity how exciting!!
This one is from my Couture Portfolio and I just love everything about this Invitation, definitely one of my all time favourite designs so far, because to me it is the epitome of simple, luxurious, classic, elegance hopefully you all agree…!
Oh Claire! I don’t envy you having to choose from all the gorgeous invites.
Enjoy…

Hi Claire,
Thanks for this fab opportunity. I’m just starting out with Pink Olive Paperie and Album Design so to get some exposure is fantastic. Like others have said, it’s also great to see so many lovely designs from the UK.
I found it hard to choose one design from my collection, but I kept coming back to Melissa…I love this design because it features open peonies, which are my favourite flowers at the moment. I also love the way the modern font contrasts with the pretty flowers. This design, like all the others in my collection can be customised to suit any colour scheme and is available as a flat invitation, layered invitation, layered pocket, pocket fold, gate fold and petal fold.

Hi Claire,
Sara from Monty Manatee Designs here. Love the competition idea.
I’m new to wedding stationery. Just did my first wedding fair on Sunday and found that my designs were very well received.
The design I’m entering is my favourite and my best-seller. It depicts Pendennis Castle in Falmouth, Cornwall, a venue that has also just entered the wedding market.
All the best
Sara
Hi Claire,
This is a wonderful idea and it’s lovely to see the beautiful design ideas other stationers have.
It was a tricky choice but I have chosen my design ‘Delicate’. I make my designs specifically to my customers tastes however the basis of this design has been very popular this year and is one of my personal favourites. It is a pocket style card incorporating the sparkle of a diamante buckle and single Swarovski diamantes with the sheen of luxury satin ribbon and a border of retro lace making it a very classic and timeless design.
I hope you like it and thanks for the opportunity to show off our work!
Debbie.
Here’s a sneak preview of our NEW ‘Vintage Garden Party’ design for Spring Summer 2012 from The Hummingbird Card Company. Its our new favourite design! It comes in a silk soft white colour with a manilla backing tied together with a little ribbon in a wallet, including an RSVP card.
We love everything vintage and this is the perfect invitation for a vintage or summer wedding.
Create the Excitement and be captivated by our beautiful hand finished laser cut wedding stationery from the Boutique collection. You’ve just got to treat yourselves to something gorgeous for your special day and you want your guests to be excited about the day you have in store for them.
We’re so excited about our new collection and there’s other new designs to launch so please keep a look out on our website. Hummingbird Cards x
Hi Claire,
This is such a fantastic opportunity, thank you so much! Not to mention that it is so wonderful to see so many beautiful stationery designs!
I have chosen to show my “Art Nouveau Floral” wedding invitation design in Cranberry, seeing as we’re heading into the winter months and then festive season! The original design was a classic monochrome colour scheme but I was recently asked to do a Cranberry version and I think it works better than the original! I love this design as I think it’s feminine without being too frilly, and has a touch of elegance to it. It’s definitely one of my most striking designs and seems to be proving popular! I also offer matching Save The Dates and RSVPs to go with this design.
Hope you like it as much as I do!

Hello Claire (and hello everyone!)
We offer something a little bit different to your average wedding invitation: Love Illustrated is a small design studio, creating bespoke, one-off illustrations for weddings. We can include anything in your unique design, ranging from the basics (venue, theme, colour) to the deepy personal (pet pekinese, favourite whisky brand) – it’s up to you! Here’s one of our all-time favourite designs for your delectation!
Hi Claire,
This is my latest wedding scroll invitation. I’ve called it Imogen. The invitation nestles in an ice white pearlescent box. The band holding the insert consists of 2 satin ribbons and the most gorgeous sparkly brooch. The insert paper matches the scroll box. The box lid has the names of the bride & groom, date of wedding and a mini brooch with matching ribbon. This invite can be made to match almost any colour scheme. Hope you like it. Me again! It seems my chosen design didn’t upload the first time…fingers crossed it works this time! Hope you like…
Don’t envy you Claire! There is some wonderful work being showcased.
Today (and I say ‘today’ because I sway daily between our example below to our more colourful and contemporary designs) I have chosen our Vela Pocketfold – I love the simplicity of this design, the understated elegance, the gorgeous foil blocking on the outer…
So many beautiful designs and proud to see the work of my fellow stationery pals!

Very interesting reading. As a wedding photographer you are privy to all the elements of a couples wedding day. While creating a story of the day you always include the three main characters: bride, groom and the location. Yet the detail of the wedding invitation is an oft overlooked part of the wedding day. Flowers, dress, shoes and ring are vital detail cogs in the grabbing the emotion of the day. Wedding invitations are proven here are just as important. They express the character of the bride and groom and build expectations of the day. They are also a lovely momento to go with photos. Great work from all involved.
